Cristal de Sèvres has been making exceptional quality crystal in France since the mid 1700’s. Sèvres crystal is not only coveted for its brightness and elegant lines, but also for the experience and know-how of more than two centuries of tradition.
The Concorde, a joint venture between France & England, was the first commercial supersonic aircraft of its kind and began to fly trans-Atlantic flights in 1976. Only 14 Concorde aircraft went into service before it was retired by both countries in 2003.
This unusual crystal paperweight was produced by Sevres for Concorde and sells for $250 in perfect condition. I usually don’t sell items with cosmetic defects, but this was so unusual I just had to see if anybody would want it at a bargain price. As you can see in the photos, there are several small chips and light scratches. It measures 4 1/8 inches wide by 2.25 inches tall. The Cristal de Sevres mark is hand etched along the bottom edge.
