Vintage French double strand necklace with double twist wire construction, and pate de verre faux turquoise glass beads interspersed with faceted glass beads. The larger faceted beads have an Aurora Borealis style iridescent coating . The smallest beads are black seed beads, and beautiful, deep burgundy red faceted glass. Shepard hook closure with an extender chain, finished with a turquoise glass bead that has a gilt floral bead cap. I previously had this listed simply as a mid-century French couture piece, but was uncertain on the maker - but I just consulted an appraiser who attributed the piece to Maison Gripoix based on construction features and the particular tone of the turquoise glass beads.
