Japanese doll umbrella wooden antique! Collectible item! Over 50 years old! About this item This is a stunning vintage parasol crafted in Japan. It features a wooden handle and a vivid bold colored flower design on silk with bamboo ribbing. There are no markings on this item to determine the maker or time period. It is in very good condition. There are a few paint chips the end top. As noted in pictures. All strings are intact and there are no paint flaws on silk. These minor flaws do not diminish the quality of this unique splendid piece. Antique Japanese umbrella probably for a very large doll or just a collectors item. It is solid wood with what I believe to be bamboo shoots to open up the umbrella along with string. The umbrella itself is a red, thick woven material with handpainted flowers on it. Its wood is all hand painted. There is a little bit of paint missing from the very top of the umbrella, as you will see in the pictures, item is at least 50 years old, that’s how long I’ve had it.
