STAR WARS AUTOGRAPHED 8x10 Photo / Peter Mayhew (d.2019) As Chewbacca / Vintage

Peter Mayhew was born in 1944 in England and was discovered by a talent scout while working as a hospital orderly. He kept his orderly job even while filming the first three “Star Wars” movies but eventually devoted most of the rest of his life to playing Chewbacca and doing personal appearances. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen and moved to Texas with his wife and her kids. Peter died in 2019 at the age of 74. This is a vintage 1990’s “Empire Strikes Back” 8 x 10 inch color photo printed the way they used to print real photos, not on a computer like today. Peter signed it in blue Sharpie and it was stored away for several decades until I bought. The photo is in good condition for its age with some light yellowing and some indentations along the left side where it bumped up against the rings of a three ring binder. Those marks should cover up nicely when framed.
