Benin Bronze Sculpture No Two are a Like Mid Century Vintage Africa Art

Made of heavy metal & bronze. Vintage Paid an expert at christie's auction house to verified that sculpture was truly a Benin & it is. Could not pinpoint the age but stated it is vintage & old. No certificate. Was told the animal was either a warthog or a tiger with its meal in its mouth. Very detailed from the head to the whiskers, and beautiful Kriss Kross pattern on back. Some wear on back of tail near backside- please see picture. No two sculptures are alike. Made in Nigeria Some dirt still in the mouth area - did not clean. Came that way. A heart is covering the animals' genitalia. These sculptures were once only made for the king, but since modern times the Benin sculptures were made to be sold. Free shipping.
