Marmot, the outdoor apparel brand, was birthed on a glacier in Alaska, where two UC Santa Cruz Students from California bonded over a love of climbing and shared outsider mentality. This button down shirt is so interesting on so many levels; I bought it when I lived in Seattle, WA, which can definitely be a pretty wild and rugged environment. If you look at my pictures above, you will see that the design of the fabric; I don't know how to describe it but it is not solid, it has subtle gradient designs in the fabric, kind of messy and rugged, which is why I love it. The Shirt itself is packable, breathable, very lightweight and quick drying, so it's definitely designed for big outdoor adventures; moreover, it's very preppy chic. It's a pink shade but it's the fabric design that I mentioned, the detailed stitching, the small company logo details and the overall design that really makes this both rugged and preppy chic. There has always been a preppy side to outdoor apparel and although this can endure heavy adventures, it's also designed for the every day man. I would call it casual to semi-formal or business casual if you're in the inner city. It's great for parties or outings with your friends.
