Is this actually waterproof or water repellent? I’m going to Patagonia and this piece is important to fight against the winds and rains ;) thank you!

@arielle11 I do believe it's waterproof. However, eventually even waterproof jackets will loose their repellency and can be re-stored with some products. This one has not been used that much, so I think it's good to go. It has the membrane intact, but if it rains heavily, I can't say for sure it will hold up. I find most waterproof jackets will need some treatment eventually. So, I can't make any promises. Whether you decide to get this one or not, I wish you a great trip to Patagonia! :)

You are the best for spreading that awareness with me. I have a jacket and I think I should just get it “treated”. I wish you all the luck as well. I appreciate you very much!

Oh, thank you for your kindness! I hope it helped a bit. I know the technical term for this jacket is waterproof and not water repellent. I hope you will have a wonderful trip! Take care and be safe and well. Thanks again! :)
