This is a beautiful large Shard brand hand painted 12” diameter bowl. The finish of the bowl is very glossy which makes this one show stopper (watch the video - even just to ohhh and ahhh). Shard Pottery, established in the mid-20th century, became known for its vibrant, hand-painted designs and high-quality craftsmanship. The pieces often feature abstract patterns, stylized motifs, or mid-century modern influences. The exterior of this bowl features beautiful paintings of pears, apples, berries and other fruits on a cream background. The interior features a cobalt blue and white sponge type design and painted on the bottom of the inside are some enticing strawberries. Excellent unused condition with no chips, cracks or crazing.
