This is a perfect specimen of gem quality gypsum, sold in the trade as White Buffalo! The stone is the perfect size to flatter any finger, and the beautiful sawtooth bezel and dainty feathered band are among the most feminine I’ve seen in Southwestern old pawn jewelry.
The tidy white and blacks are crisp and gorgeous. The dome on the stone is high and so is the polish — you can see how it reflects the light. And the spiderweb pattern here is full of charm and character. It’s held on with serrated prongs and the band is a double feather that is literally stunning…very reminiscent of John Hardy or David Yurman cable! I like to pair it with diamond bands for that signature Yurman look.
Also known as white turquoise, White Buffalo holds sacred, mystical significance for Native American tribes, particularly the Lakota or Sioux tribe. Due to its extreme rarity, howlite, gypsum, or magnesite are used to replicate the B&W beauty of White Buffalo (dolomite). This ring is a premium piece, with no brown tones - just pure black & white.
(True White Buffalo will not have any brown tones, does not look like zebra stripes, does not have a glassy appearance, is never mass produced, and will not be made in India. I only see about 5 pieces of *genuine* WB for sale on Posh currently! Just FYI! 😉)
Styled in my pics with diamond pavé bands, a 2 carat black diamond, and a meteorite stone.

Is it stamped?
mstar
@anebarb Yes, it’s stamped 925 for sterling silver! It’s on the inside of the band…I will try to get a good pic for you right now.
mstar
@anebarb I apologize for the blurry pics! I did the best I could given the tricky location of the stamp.
It appears there’s also a small maker’s mark to the right of the 925 stamp…perhaps it says TT or T7?
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions! 🩷
