dartonsmarten Flem, thank you for taking the time to provide encouragement to me. You don’t k ow how much it means to me. My husband knows that my back is trashed. What he doesn’t know it that I have found a new pain management doctor who ordered a scan of my spine with radioactive contrast to see where I had swelling to try to determine what he could do that would have the greatest effect.

dartonsmarten His nurse called me, told me how he said he was looking for the areas of inflammation and there is inflammation everywhere. On top of that, I have a bunch of facet joints that have less and less space for nerves to run through. He decided to try an injection of steroids between L5 & S1. I was going to be twilighted, but realized I had no one to drive me home, so a lidocaine bolus ahead of the actual injection is what I’m going to get so I can drive myself home.

dartonsmarten I see you are very active regarding GI issues. You sharing with me during Tara’s show was divine intervention as today I am scheduling my colonoscopy. Both my father and my grandmother (his mom) had colon cancer. You know what they say, the prep is worse than the procedure. Dad died when he was 57 and I was 16 because he was ignoring all the symptoms he had..

dartonsmarten My tiny mom put her foot down & said we were not going on vacation unless he got checked out. He did & vacation was cancelled for his surgery. He had enough “clean” intestine that he didn’t need an ostomy, but 13 of 15 lymph nodes came back positive & we learned 3 of 4 liver nodes were cancerous. At least he lasted long enough, & in fact rallied, for my sister’s wedding in August. He looked so good and so happy! He died the following June.
