Shrug *Hand Made* Brand New

This is an original work, but it's so simple there was no need to keep any pattern notes. I prefer to make my shrugs wider than long, instead of the traditional square design. This gives it a more cropped length and helps it to fall open in the front. It's meant to only hug the shoulders and cover your back. It looks fantastic with jeans and a tank top or over any basic shell dress with a chunky belt and matching shoes. It's 100% cotton, which means it's also a great beach cover. Dry off with it and then toss it on damp, any breeze becomes instantly cooled and the sun is off your back and shoulders. This piece was worked on the vertical, making a horizontal striping effect from the front. I used Dahlia Mixo in Strawberry Dream and a piece of black crochet thread throughout, with an extra strand added in for the relief rows and trim. I also added a rolled collar to the top and front edges. It measures 30" long from elbow to elbow and 23" long, including the folded collar. The arm holes measure 14".
