Would you say it’s true to size? I’m 7.5-8 but have wider feet so unsure how it would fit

Actually, I'd love to tell you they'd fit, but they might be a little narrow. The back of the shoe is 2 inches wide and the widest part of the ball of the foot is 3 inches wide. I hope that helps.
