Intricately carved and painted Hopi katsina doll figure
Represents Crow Mother or Angwusnasomtaka
While the signature on the bottom of the kachina is blurred, I think this is the work of Second Mesa master carver Alton Pashano of the Corn Clan, due to the kachina details, fine carving, intricate painting and bright colors.
Probably late 20th Century.
Pashano's work is in museum collections and Southwestern galleries as well as "Hopi Katsina 1600 Artist Biographies" by Dr. Gregory Schaff.
Highly collectible and gorgeous cottonwood carving!
Very vibrant paint colors, intricately carved feather details
The kachina holds a traditional basket, has a kiva ladder before her, ears of corn, a building structure carved into the back of the base
Very good condition - has crack in the back section of the base
Measures: 11.5" tall x 5" wide x 5" deep
