Welcome to Aunt Peg's Closet. Aunt Peg was a lifelong teacher who loved to travel. While she passed away a few years ago, she left a world of treasures to mark her wonderful adventures. These special dolls were part of her beloved collection from her travels in Ireland. Jay of Dublin was a Company in Dublin, Ireland who manufactured these charming dolls in the mid-1900's. While there doesn't appear to be much information, it appears that they may have been the brain child of Peggy Nisbet. This adorable couple of traditional Ireland is made of a variety of cloths (felt, cotton & twead) over a wire frame with a detailed clay face & feet. Each doll weighs around 2.5 pounds & is approximately 8 inches tall (see photo for exact height). These dolls are perfect for the collectors and doll enthusiastics alike, and would add charm to collection.
