Vintage Casa Maya By Hubert Harmon Brass Enamel Green Dragon Brooch/Pendant

This pin is a rare mid-century dragon / serpent. Pre-Columbian primitive and abstract modernist. The body is outlined with intricately rippled tooling and the recessed interior is embellished with mottled teal and blue polychrome enameling. The imposing eye has been created employing a glass chrysoprase bead, set within a crimped, copper bezel. by the company Casa Maya and designed by Hubert Harmon from the 1950s. There are no damages and the pin mechanism is functional. There is also a loop to put the brooch onto a chain or ribbon to wear as a necklace. Stored in a jewelry box in a smoke-free home by a family member for well over 65 years. I take close-up pictures of the items so the details are clearly visible.
