I bought this 'vintage' bag, so excited because I thought it was beautiful. Now I'm ready to pass it on. This is what I assume to be a faux Dooney and Bourke handbag. There are no inside tags that would lead me to believe it is authentic. But it is a pretty green leather with a little gold twist closure. All measurements are indicated in photos.

dzoobaby Uhhh! It’s surprising how much that happens! You are certainly not alone! There are a couple of YouTube tutorials out there where they show you how to tell the difference between fake Dooney and a real Dooney AWL In one of the good ones, the host (or whatever she is called) even cuts a fake one apart to show you what is inside. I found it helpful and simple really once you know what to look for. Then you will be able to see a lot of them on Posh!

dzoobaby I knew as soon as I saw the hardware. I wish all the other designers would put something like that out so people don’t get ripped off with buying fake bags-there are some really good fakes out there. I don’t worry about it that much though because I don’t spend much on each one so if it ends up being a fake, I’m not out that much money. One thing that is super easy to see is the hardware-Dooney’s hardware on AWL’s is solid brass so gold toned and the feet on this bag are not in a Dooney style.
