The pieces are used. They have been cleaned but they may have scratches, etc from normal wear and tear. This is a wonderful set to determine if your child likes to use Legos or build or if you want to expand to an existing set. With the exception of the base plate, I tried my best to keep all pieces LEGO Brand. If I missed something - pls know it is/was accidential - I just want to set realistic expectations.
