Basque wool deep navy blue beret. No brand indicated on label but made in South Africa. 100% wool with stunning appliqué design in pastel purple, green and white. Beautiful condition. The origin of the "Basque" beret came from the Bearn Shepherds of the same name, Bearn. The beret was hand knit and then the wool was felted in mountain waters - to create a hat that protects against the sun and winters.
