Created in 2005 as a thesis film, this travel log style documentary highlights all the diverse beach communities of Fire Island, NY, a barrier beach located directly south of a central part of Long Island and mostly accessible only by boat or ferry. It interviews locals, highlights some of the traditions and captures the heart of each community on the island. While it is somewhat outdated today, especially after Hurricane Sandy damaged much of the island, it still shows how amazing and unique this barrier beach is and captures a snapshot in its history. This film debuted in Bay Shore, NY in 2005 and premiered in a NYC Fire Island hot spot in winter 2006. It sold in several Fire Island and Bay Shore stores from 2005-2008.
Areas highlighted include Davis Park, Cherry Grove, the Fire Island Pines, Ocean Bay Park, Ocean Beach, Fair Harbor, Kismet, Atlantique, the Fire Island lighthouse and more.
