Madame Alexander's 8" Romeo and Juliet #94-6 and #94-7. Romeo and Juliet recreate the classic love story in period attire. Romeo wears purple and red tights with jewel and gold embellishment, a cod piece, and a handsome blue, white, red, and purple doublet with lace trim around the sleeves and neck. To complete his ensemble, Romeo dons a navy blue cap with gold trim and red teather. Romeo has brown hair and eyes. Juliet wears a crushed blue velvet under dress with jewel and floral ribbon detail. Over this dress she wears a beautiful red, gold, and blue tunic with jewel detail. A red and gold chain encircles her delicate waist and has a beautiful gold cross at the end. To finish her look, Juliet wears gold shoes, and a gold and red cap. Her lovely brown hair is pulled back in a braid. Many dolls produced during this time period, the eyes do not flutter open and closed freely due to a manufacturing defect. This set was a 1994 Mid-Year Introduction and only a limited amount were made. In excellent unboxed condition.
