FASCINATING 1950S' NAVY VELVET COCKTAIL CAP WITH MATCHING CURLY FEATHERS/PEARLS

This is a fabulous 1950s' cocktail "Juliet Cap" hat consisting of an asymmetrically elongated stiff structure covered in beautiful navy velvet on top, and in a matching shiny navy fabric on the inside. The outstanding features of this hat are the matching curly feathers plus the round circles that adorn the top of the hat with a pearl in the center of each. There is a comb attached to the inside the front to help keep it in place. Simply stunning! A Juliet cap is a small cap, often decorated with pearls, beads, or jewels, and chiefly worn with evening gowns or as bridal wear. The cap is named after the heroine of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, who is sometimes portrayed wearing one. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
