marylizt I think this is actually a Shoe Carry Case, a vintage shoe travel bag for flats or slippers, for ladies' shoes. When I worked or visited friends in the city in the 1970s, we wore crappy footwear going to and from work or venues (thru the subways, snow, slush) then pulled flats out of the case for wear during the day or event! This case kept our beautiful footwear in great condition! Just a thought from memory lane. . .
