GOLD BURGUNDY MULTI SILK PHEASANT SCARF by RALPH LAUREN COLLECTION ~ PURPLE LABEL A gorgeous, vintage 1980s silk scarf in a rich palette of fall colors including gold, burgundy, pinks, purple, browns, and greens. In a pheasant and floral motif with paisleys, leaves, and rope-like scroll designs. It is an absolutely stunning, and rare Ralph Lauren piece! 34" X 34" square Signed "Ralph Lauren" 100% silk fine twill Hand-rolled edges Made in Italy From the Ralph Lauren Collection line At the very top of the Ralph Lauren line, "Ralph Lauren Collection" for women was launched in 1971 bearing purple tags with "Ralph Lauren" in block print with a polo pony centered on tags. In 1994, Lauren launched "Ralph Lauren Purple Label" for gentlemen,  bearing tags with cursive script "Ralph Lauren" on purple tags. At some point since the women's Ralph Lauren Collection launch in 1971, Ralph Lauren adopted the same cursive script purple "Ralph Lauren" tags (sans polo pony) for its women's premium collection. This scarf bears the original block print, polo pony purple tag from the early Ralph Lauren Collection pieces. Notable, today women's "Ralph Lauren Collection" pieces are often referred to as "Ralph Lauren Purple Label," though technically, "Purple Label" refers to the gentlemen's line. Like it?
