Introduced to Thailand through trade with China, celadon ceramics were adopted and refined by Thai artisans, who developed unique styles and techniques. The green glaze is achieved by firing a glaze containing iron oxide at high temperatures in a reducing kiln, resulting in the characteristic crackled appearance. The soup tureen, a vessel designed for serving soups and stews, became popular in Europe during the 18th century and has since been produced in various forms worldwide.
