Villeroy & Boch Naif Christmas Porcelain Handled Round Cake Plate. This is a very beautiful cake plate from Villeroy & Boch in the Design Naif Christmas pattern. It features artwork by Gérard Laplau. He was a French postwar & contemporary artist born in 1938. It features a winter scene in an idyllic village. There are many people doing various activities including chopping wood, cutting down trees, sitting by a fire, etc. It is a very busy scene. Contrary to the name of this pattern, there is no direct Christmas imagery. It is just a winter scene. Around the edge are double red lines. This is a very good quality piece with a heavy weight. Height 1 in Length 11.75 in Width 12.5 in Weight 2 lbs 12 oz In excellent like new condition. This has been used as a display piece and was never used. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing.
