mahalia1980 This has happened to me a few times and Posh always takes the buyers side, always. Been on posh for years and have 937+ 5 stars and still the buyer has always gotten what they want, it’s EXTREMELY discouraging but Posh doesn’t care, as long as they get their 20%.

skudro @finderkeeperlux np !! just trying to keep the community safe thank you for the support 💕

skudro @tintilla thank you :) has it worked for you before? I even included a video in my listing and I feel like that is not even good enough for them.

skudro @mahalia1980 wow and you have 1600 listing sold. congrats girl 👏🏻Do you have any advice for new sellers to kind of watch out for scammers beforehand or not much nothing to do to prevent this?

mahalia1980
mahalia1980 @skudro I don’t bother with people who ask very evasive vague questions because then they contest item not as described. If someone asks 8000 questions, I don’t sell to them either because they’re not picky and will be a pain. I’m not hard up for the money but, could use it like anyone else so, if I get a bad vibe, I just bow out.

tintilla @skudro sorry to hear that from you but I saw a horror story online. So what I did I had my cousin take a video of me showing the item then packaging it in an envelope with a sticker on top so you can see it was not tampered

hoomen
hoomen Thank you I will beware. How exactly does it work for this buyer. The buyer would have to return the purse so what do they get out of it? I did have one buyer destroy a sweater they bought of course poshmark sided with the buyer my guess is it didn’t fit and it was the only way to get a refund. It was not worth the fight. But on an LV purse it is worth the fight. Oh another thing to be aware of buyers will open cases claiming sellers sent them an empty box (not the item).

skudro @mahalia1980 omh I know exactly what you mean I had that with my juicy bag. It’s sold for 500 and I was getting ready to package it and they asked me what kind of free gifts I can give them and then on top of that they kept asking multiple questions about things that were already in the listing description so I cancelled and then it led them to make fake accounts and try to tarnish. My name in the juicy community was so bad.

skudro @mahalia1980 Same here I’m selling a few good items I don’t reach for anymore but if they are going to come back to me ruined anyway I might as well not be on this platform anymore.

skudro @tintilla I am going to do that next time thank you sm! great idea! I am still really reluctant to still sell on this platform but if you think that I should still try and sell to other people on here then I will keep my listings up. I am dealing with a few sites right now, and I’ve never had this issue before

skudro
skudro @hoomen see that’s the thing I can understand for fit, but still that’s a really bad thing to do to get a refund. He should be going from the listing description and the pictures, especially if we take photos of all angles of the item. I have no clue what you had again but I feel like it was a huge case of buyers remorse and she damaged the product in a way that she knew she would get to return after all her other claims failed with support.

skudro
skudro @hoomen wait people are returning empty boxes as well and getting the refund right away I assume because I noticed they got refunded right away. I mean even with the 20% they take take off. I thought that we were safe from these type of scams, but it’s almost not worth selling luxury goods on here if that’s the case.

hoomen
hoomen @skudro so crappy, people can be terrible. I have lots of sales and top ratings, I find I am still having to be careful who I sell higher end items too.

mahalia1980
mahalia1980 @hoomen couldn’t agree more sadly. 💔

skudro
skudro @hoomen does the ambassador status matter when it comes to returns? Also, congrats how was it building your closet on this platform as opposed to other ones

skudro @mahalia1980 I know what a waste of a gorgeous bag😭
Jan 04Reply
hoomen
hoomen @skudro it has helped a few times. Like when a buyer claimed I sent them an empty box. PM did sided with me. Some of the claims I just gave up on. The sweater that was destroyed I only sold it for $7. It was not worth the fight for $2.85. Other claims have been pretty dumb like I wasted too much paper wrapping the items. Since I started watching who I sell too I have not had a claim open in over a year. :)

skudro
skudro @hoomen amazing thank you for the advice and I also forgot about the star ratings as well that they have on here like similar to some other platforms so yeah I can see people doing a lot of dumb complaints about that and taking off stars, but I don’t think they count for anything on this platform luckily lol
Jan 05Reply
hoomen
hoomen @skudro it’s all good. If you have a buyer giving an offer for you. Just check their profile see how active they are if they sell stuff, if they have good ratings. :) lol it’s like doing research on a person before accepting their offer
Jan 05Reply
i_cart_u_28
i_cart_u_28 @hoomen Agree to this. This is what I've been doing before accepting offers or vice versa.
Jan 06Reply
skudro
skudro @i_cart_u_28 yeah that’s a good idea to check the person’s profile and see how active they are or if they have other love notes possibly

consom The reason I started writing "no returns accepted " I sold a boys suit very clean and it came with a huge stain ,which was very unfair ,obviously buyer went to a party with her son wearing my son's suit for free ,Poshmark gave her back her money and I learnt a lesson, be safe Posh family some people are up to no good.
Jan 07Reply
skudro
skudro @consom wow that’s unacceptable! I’m really sorry that happened to you and it’s really scary how many scammers are allowed on the platform! I even heard about one girl who told me that someone shipped her back an empty box. At least this post brings positive people of this community together and I am so grateful for that at least. thank you so much for sharing your story with me.
Jan 07Reply
skudro
skudro @consom We all have to stick together through this maybe Poshmark will tighten their return policies if enough people complain. 🙏 💕✌️

consom
consom @skudro Having to also record the item before it is shipped can help I saw one comment saying they record before shipping
