Vintage Stanford University White Sweatshirt with the Iconic Redwood Palo Alto Seal - Founded in 1891, Stanford University is one most prestigious universities in the United States. The image on this sweatshirt features an early seal with the Redwood Tree or Palo Alto (which literally translates to tall stick). Stanford University was founded by Jane and Leland Stanford as a memorial to their only son Leland Stanford who passed away on a trip to Florence Italy when he was a teenager. Leland Stanford was an industrialist who also served as the eighth Governor of California and as a United States Senator from 1885 to 1893. This sweatshirt measures approximately 21 inches from pit to pit and 24 1/2 inches from the top of the shoulder to the hem (see photos for more details). The size is a size large. This sweatshirt could be worn by a man or a woman. The sweatshirt is in good condition except for three small spots on the front shown with a yellow paper and arrow pointing to the spots see last photo. See photos for more details.
