Attributed to Anthony Pineda 970 Silver Black Obsidian Vtg Mexican Earrings J702 This is a beautiful modernist style set of earrings attributed to Anthony Pineda. Let me make it clear what "attributed" means. Anthony Pineda is the designer of this earring. He also handcrafted many of this design but as far as my research shows, he always signed them. Also, he made them with a screw back, not a clip back. This pair does indeed show a very high level of craftsmanship, even to the level where one might think they were made by the master himself. I do not know the actual maker but after research and seeking the help of some actual experts in the field, I believe this pair of earring/earclips were most likely made by one of Mr Pineda's protege's. Whoever made them was an excellent silversmith. They are made of 970 silver (Sterling silver is 925 and fine silver is 999.) and black obsidian. They are clip-on style. They are in excellent condition considering their age and high silver content.
