This is a vintage 1970s-1980 Green, Blue & Lavender Handwoven Mohair & Wool Knit Pom Tam by Donegal Design, Ireland! The tam is a women's hat that became popular in the 1920s. It was inspired by the tam o'shanter and the beret, and was a response to the fashion trends of the time for closer-fitting hats that suited shorter hairstyles. The tam's soft, versatile shape could be draped in different ways to frame the face. This tam is made of soft, thick mohair and a pure new wool blend yarn in shades of green and a touch of blue and lavender! Mohair is a natural fiber from an Angora goat with a silky texture and unique sheen; pure new wool means it was never used before. The combo creates a lightweight, soft, and luxurious yarn!
