debbyjones717 I have a question for which I apologize prior to asking. I have had an extreme amount of surgery to rebuild my feet. I’m an 71,yr old shut-in. I often purchase shoes second hand due to cost and comfort. But often it goes poorly. I need to be sure the shoes flex without cracking. Often shoes not worn for awhile degrade from time and non-use. Unless you flex them it’s not noticeable.

debbyjones717 I normally use my old type shoes leather,“nurse mates”,“slides”, “clogs”,or “mules”.But they don’t wear out they degrade from non-use.as I don’t walk much. I had stored them in my attic which I found is why people don’t know when they sell them.I know this,as I said,I myself damaged new shoes in the storing of them.

brendacoops @debbyjones717 They do not crack when bent, I always check shoes for dry rot / cracking as I have had shoes fall apart on me as well.

debbyjones717 @brendacoops thank you for understanding. I didn’t know that composite heel/ foot beds did that until I pulled out my nurse mates that were from a long time ago. I went to wear them and they broke on my feet going to take trash out. I hadn’t worn them in forever and only wore them 10 work days prior to that. You’re a sweetheart for understanding.
