It zips closed across the top with an additional zipper compartment inside along with more compartments on the other side. The back side of the purse also has another large compartment that snaps. Nice long adjustable shoulder strap. The strap has a mark as noted in the picture. It a beautiful unique purse. Measurements in the pictures.
