Needle ironstone is a mineral specimen made up of prismatic needle-like crystals of goethite, an iron oxyhydroxide. Goethite is also the main component of rust and bog iron ore.
In metaphysical terms, needle ironstone is often described as a grounding stone with powerful energy for stability, protection, and willpower, believed to help one face challenges with courage and resilience, while also promoting emotional balance and clarity of thought, particularly when dealing with intense situations or significant life changes.

@earthtreasures is the color natural or is it dyed?

@nbachner16 The needles are the natural color. The outside of the smooth sphere part does have a protective coat to prevent breakage, like how they put concrete on Amerhyst cathedrals.

So cool. How do you even ship this without the delicate needles breaking?!

@lovestonedgypsy First, I wrap the sphere in clear cling wrap. Then, I add an extra strip of bubble wrap across the opening for extra protection. Then, I wrap the whole sphere in bubble wrap. There is a bit of breakage just depending on how rough the mail carrier handles the box, but so far no one has had any complaints about breakage.

@earthtreasures smart. Shipping the delicate pieces is always hard! You have some beautiful specimens!
