Vintage Nicky Butler Multi-Stone Cross Sterling Silver Moonstone & Gems Necklace This is a lovely cross from Nicky Butler. For this cross, Nicky Butler used a classic medley of colored stones, a style that has become so recognized in his work. While not small, this statement necklace has a delicate feminine appearance. The Nicky Butler cross is marked India, 925, indicating sterling silver and NB. The chain is also sterling silver and marked Italy and 925. The total weight for both the cross and chain is 16.7 grams. The cross measures 3" tall including the bale, and 1 3/4" wide. The chain measures approximately 20 inches long. Stones include moonstone, rhodolite garnet and peruvian pink opal. Nicky Butler began his career as an antique dealer in the late 1960s. He entered the jewelry business in partnership with Simon Wilson and eventually started his own high-end jewelry line in the 1990s. Nicky Butler is famous for using multi-color gems set in sterling silver. He is reported to have designed pieces for Georgio Armani and provided pieces to Princess Diana.
