The Red Letter Shakespeare edited by E. K. Chambers is one of the most iconic Shakespeare collections ever assembled. The small volumes measure 6"x3.75" (16x9.5cm). They are bound in dark red with gold leaf on the top (still intact, as shown). There are some small pencil markings on the inside front covers from an earlier bookseller. The mottling is called "foxing" and is common in books from this period which are made with wood pulp paper. It's caused by oxidation of the paper's inherent acidity. This set includes:
- Titus Andronicus / 1907
- Poems Volume I / 1906
- The Comedy of Errors / 1907
- Love's Labour's Lost / 1905
- Measure for Measure / 1906
- Much Ado About Nothing /1905
Hold history in your hands as you explore this beautifully bound 120-year old set that captures the essence of Shakespearean drama and poetry.
