Vintage Kenneth Jay Lane "Critter Series" Frog Prince Brooch & Trinket Box Brooch Closure Type: Locking C-Clasp Hallmarks: © KJL THAILAND pictorial mark Frog Prince measures 2-1/4" long by 1-3/4" wide. Lily pad itself measures 2" long by 2" wide. Kenneth Jay Lane's (KJL) vintage critter series brooch/trinket box. There are 4 of these critters that he created in this series. This one being a frog on a lily pad and called "Frog Prince." Check out "Lady Bug Lane and "Madame Escargot" from the same series and also available in the shop. Frog Prince features a 3 dimensional look with beautiful rich green enamel peppered with clear Austrian crystals and gorgeous green glass small cabochons throughout his body. There are gold tone band findings as well to create a realistic look to his body. His legs are tucked up underneath of him like he is ready to leap off of his lily pad. Lily pad is a rich fabulous shiny gold tone with striations to create the look of a real lily pad. Has a straight pin with roll over clasp for closure and is in perfect working order. Gold tone setting is immaculate. It can be worn as a brooch and it can be used as a trinket box to hold a ring or 2. Brooch is signed on reverse side KJL in an oval cartouche' and the stand is also signed KJL on the bottom of the lily pad stand. This is such a fantastic brooch designed by KJL and is a BOOK PIECE.
