Japanese porcelain produced during the American occupation (1945-1952) is highly sought-after by collectors. This kitschy specimen will delight fans of the genre, as well as those who like a good story to tell. In fact, this planter was abandoned by the son of an English farmer, unaware that it had the power to provide animals with hay at will, as long as a few seeds were placed inside. Of course, it had been given to his father by a Fairy. Unfortunately, the trinket has since lost this power...
Approx. 6,6 x 3 x 3,25 in. It shows vintage crazing on the unpainted surfaces but no cracks or chips.
