It's made of Vaseline glass, also known as uranium glass, which contains a small amount of uranium oxide giving it a yellow-green color and the property of glowing under UV light.  The hobnail pattern refers to the raised bumps on the surface of the glass.  The "opalescent" term describes the milky, cloudy effect, particularly noticeable on the rim.
