This beautiful antique Flow Blue oval platter is from England’s New Wharf-Wood and Son pottery. In addition to the lovely coloring, there is also a delicate raised pattern along the banding. 18”x13” at the widest points, 2” height.
The company stamp (a bit blurred on the piece) states Paris, Royal, semi-porcelain, crown symbol, Wood and Son, and England. I was able to compare the stamp with another piece online.
I also researched the imprinted number 1006 on the back, which indicates a production date of October, 1906.
There are a couple of minor discoloration marks on the back, one on the front. Additionally, there are three minor chips (less than 1/4 inch) on the back (please see pictures) all consistent with age and ware.
A great serving piece for any table or special occasion!
