This is a vintage stoneware cookie press set, one from Pampered Chef, and two unbranded. They have only been used as decor. Features hearts, rabbits, lamb, and chicken shapes for Valentine's Day, Easter, & Spring themed cookies. Can be strung with ribbon and hung as decor.
Stoneware cookie molds work by pressing rolled-out cookie dough into the engraved design on the mold, creating the desired shape on the cookie before baking; you simply roll out dough, lightly flour the mold, press the dough into the design, and then gently remove the cookie from the mold to bake on a sheet.
Key points about using stoneware cookie molds:
Flour is essential:
Always dust the mold with flour or confectioner's sugar to prevent the dough from sticking.
Even pressure:
Press the dough firmly and evenly into the mold, working from the center outwards.
Cutting excess dough:
After pressing, use a knife or pastry cutter to trim any excess dough that might be around the edges.
Gentle removal:
To release the cookie, gently tap the mold on a flat surface to loosen the dough, then carefully lift the cookie out.
Baking:
Place the shaped cookies on a baking sheet and bake according to your recipe.
