This exquisite handmade brooch from the early 1900s is a true masterpiece. The archaeological revival design is beautifully complemented by the sterling silver material, intricate cannetille work and the turquoise colored ‘cloisonné ’ enamel details. The center features an Alexander the Great style coin displaying the head of Alexander, facing right and wearing the skin of the Nemean lion. The round shape with a scalloped rim and 1000 silver metal purity (marked on back) make for a stunning addition to any vintage jewelry collection.
This brooch measures 37mm (1.45”) in diameter and weighs 7.4 grams. There is one tiny silver bead missing on the left middle edge (see last photo) which is reflected in the lower price. Otherwise, this piece is in very nice condition. Please review all photos as they are part of the description.
The Edwardian era piece is an original, handmade item that is sure to impress. The brooch is in excellent condition and is a must-have for any antique jewelry enthusiast. This unique piece is perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any outfit and is a great conversation starter.
