pamsserendipity @nanagirl0917. Hi! The relaxed waist for the large is 17" laying flat or 34" Total. It is elastic waist. I would measure a pair of pants that fit you well and decide that way. Lay flat and measure the waist from side to side without stretching. Hope that helps! Pam ~
