There are scores of copies out there...but this Soothsayer's ring is the original 14K gold design by Carl K. Gumpert in 1970. These come up every few years at auction. However, I have not seen any recently. The design is magical. It depicts the hands of a mystic, scrying over a crystal ball. In this case, the "crystal ball" is an actual Moonstone, adding depth and light to the ball making it seemingly whirl with movement. Each movement of the ring on your finger exudes a soft, milky-blue light known as adularescence. Moonstone's microstructure consists of regular exsolution lamellae of different alkali feldspar and chatoyancy that displays a luminous "cats eye" effect that seem to float and shimmer. The ring has the proper hallmark inside the ring for Carl Gumpert which is PacG. It is a size 6.5 but can be sized by a professional jeweler if need be.
