The ring is coated with thick layer of gold, kind of like gold plating but with a thicker layer. The appearance is textured, it looks like gold foil which adds to the crown shaped vibe. The shank is tapered and marked as sterling on the inner shank, tested positive via chemical testing. The stones are rough blue sapphires. Rough blue sapphires are more affordable but long lasting.
