Jesus Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane: Heinrich Hofmann: c1890 Art Print
Lithograph large Picture, 21 1/2" X 13 1/2"
Bought this from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception rummage sale, it used to hang in a hallway.
Frame is solid wood and glass, ready to hang.
Frame is slightly fragile, it's not going to come apart, but it does jiggle in one corner.
Inside glass could be cleaned, I did not want to take it apart.
Stunning picture
Hard to photograph, due to glare.
The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is the mother church of the Diocese of Tyler.
Immaculate Conception Parish was established in 1878, and the present Immaculate Conception Church was dedicated on March 17, 1935.
In 1986, recognizing the growth of the Catholic population in East Texas, the Diocese of Tyler was created from portions of the Dioceses of Dallas, Beaumont and Galveston-Houston. Immaculate Conception Church was designated as the chief church of the new diocese and thus became the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on February 24, 1987.
The structure, which was designed in the Spanish style, is reminiscent of the heritage of Texas. It stands with nobility and warmth at the corner of South Broadway Avenue and Front Street in Tyler. Since its dedication, the church has stood as a symbol of those first courageous people who gave so totally of themselves so that we might experience and share their Catholic roots and traditions.
