This is one of the most unique & artsy vintage kimonos I have ever owned, in that the fabric is so unusual. The fabric is sectioned, and some of them almost look like a Persian rug pattern! Or even reminiscent of some block-print Indian fabrics. Definitely the only kimono I’ve seen with a Bohemian flavor. Blues, Greens, Reds with Brown and Butterscotch on the outside, it is lined in smooth, Pure White and Copper Silk. Please see the last photo that best shows the subtle texture of the raw silk exterior. This kimono is a bit longer and wider than most, best for a taller woman if you plan on wearing it robe-like and open/unsecured at the waist: 61.5” long (don’t be too put off by the length — Japanese women are typically not of a tall stature; the kimono is wrapped quite close to the body and fabric is traditionally secured around the waist with a very wide and cumbersome Obi; for modern wear you can use a sash) and 25” wide, measured from the back, underarm to underarm. There is a snap in the center (inside the back of neckline) if you wish to wear the kimono with the eri (lapel-like piece) folded down. Obijime cord is not included, I use it for styling. Priced very fairly considering all of the handiwork (sewing together of all the segmented fabrics) entailed, and the overall specialness of the garment. EUC!

rosyposy313 Hello. Is there a composition tag you can upload a photo of?

osakagirl @rosyposy313 Hello, no I’m sorry there is not. I’ve actually never seen one since they are all hand made. I own quite a few; most were inherited from my children’s great aunt who was an ikebana sensei and also taught tea ceremony. The only tags I’ve come across have been sewn into mass produced cotton Yukata and the polyester robes with sashes that were sold for tourists years ago. Thanks for your interest!
