Hand Blown Art Glass Witch Ball/Sun Catcher Orb

Witch Balls were very popular in the 18th century, but their actual origin is thought to be much older. For well over 300 years hollow glass spheres have been hung in windows to ward off ill fortune, evil spirits, and witch spells. According to legend, the shiny surface of the balls, entice bad JuJu, ill fortune and evil spirits into the ball. Then the strands of the glass inside capture the spirits and keep them from escaping. Others believe the bad influences would gather as dust on the ball and can be wiped away. The ball is approximately 6” wide about the size of a large grapefruit It has hues of beautiful blue and purple it’s absolutely beautiful in the sun. It is in excellent condition.❤️
