This is a vintage Japanese Moriage terracotta teapot, estimated to be from the mid-twentieth century.
Moriage is a Japanese ceramic decorating technique where designs are built up on the surface using applied slip, creating a three-dimensional effect. It's often associated with ornate Japanese export porcelain. The technique involves applying layers of slip (liquid clay) and then firing to create raised relief designs.
