Kimberly Sheerin (also known as Kimberly Medeiros after 2016) is known for highly decorated functional pots, plates, mugs, cups, bowls, and teapots. Decorative techniques used are slip trailing, stamping and sgraffito. Motifs are sometimes political and/or educational. She is influenced by the natural world of Cape Cod, by Islamic art and the art and life of the eastern areas of the subcontinent of India. Her research into human trafficking influenced a series "pots with a purpose" meant to educate the viewer.
