Johnson Brothers English Chippendale Oval Tureen

Johnson Brothers, English Chippendale pattern. This is the “oval” tureen as apposed to the larger rectangle. Measures about 10 5/8 by 8 3/4 and about 7 1/2 inches tall. Please note that my grandmother used this China in her catering business over 50 years ago. The handle on one side of the tureen broke and she glued it back together. Whatever glue she used has lasted all of this time, but I would NOT carry it or lift it by the handle. I also probably wouldn’t fill it beyond where it has cracked (please see all of the up close photos). Could make a nice container for plants or flower centerpieces. However, the lid is in excellent condition. It does have the notch in it for a ladle. There are no chips or cracks in the lid. This is probably the more valuable part of this pair since people often broke their lids. Offers welcomed. I do have some other pieces if you are searching for something. Just ask. Smoke and pet free.
