1940'S NATURAL STRAW HAT WITH NETTING BRIM, NAVY VELOUR TRIMMING + NAVY FEATHER

This is a fabulous hat from the 1940s'! The crown and part of the brim are made of fine natural color straw. The crown is round, surrounded by a narrow velour band which ends in a bow at the back, and is covered in navy dotted veiling. The brim's outer part is made of netting, and edged in a velour band. There is also a spray of navy feathers on top of the crown. This is a very elegant look! The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. Label: DANA MARTE Original Please do not expect perfection! This is an authentic piece of fashion history!
